  • PRESIDENT BRANDT TESTIFIES AT SENATE HEARING

     

    thumbnail webIMG_7301_1CSEA/VOICE President Heidi-Jo Brandt testified in front of the NYS Senate Children and Families Committee communicating our 2023 Child Care Legislative Priorities:

    1) Paying providers for the true cost of care, and not as a percentile of the market rate
    2) Shifting from pay for attendance to pay for enrollment and
    3) Increasing and standardizing county plan options
    4) Increase Differential Rate for homeless and non-traditional hours care

  • NYAEYC Conference Registration Cost Covered

    Register now!

    NYAEYC for webpostCSEA/VOICE Local 100A partners with the New York Chapter of The National Association of the Education of Young Children (NYAEYC) to help providers access high-quality trainings and educational resources offered at their annual conference.

    To assist, we will cover the cost of the NYAEYC conference registration – Package B only no meals included – and the Friday night, March 31 hotel fee (only) for all Licensed Group Family, Registered Family and Legally-exempt child care providers (outside of NYC) to attend the 2023 New York Association for the Education of Young Children (NYAEYC) Annual Conference March 30 – April 1, 2023 at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, NY.

     Registration runs from February 14 – March 27

    How to register:

    -> Go to: https://csealearningcenter.org/programs/cseaprofdev.cfm and enter your license/registration/enrollment number and CSEA ID, then select NYAEYC from the dropdown menu to receive your authorization.

    -> Then go to the NYAEYC registration page by clicking the link below and fill out the registration here: https://na.eventscloud.com/website/48238/

    -> When completing the registration questions, you will be asked to input the code provided by CSEA/VOICE.  Please enter VOICE2023.  On the payment page, please select “CSEA VOICE payment” method.  CSEA/VOICE will pay the registration fee on your behalf.

    ->The Turning Stone Conference Center Hotel no longer has rooms available, but not to worry. You may still make a reservation for a standard room for the night of March 31 at any of the hotels listed below. To have us cover the cost, please email your name, daytime phone number,  hotel name and confirmation number to profdev@cseainc.org.

  • Payment for Retroactive Absences

    If you served at least one child who received child care assistance through your Local Department of Social Services during either of the following time periods April 1, 2020 through March 31, 2021 and/or April 1, 2021 through November 30, 2021 either in your home or in the parents home you may be eligible for this grant.

    To receive this grant you must meet the following criteria:

    Have an active license, registration, permit, or enrollment to provide child care
    Be currently open and “in good standing”
    Can attest to serving at least one child in receipt of child care assistance from the New York Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) (formerly child care subsidy program) during one or both time periods stated above.

    Deadline to apply for this funding is Friday, December 16, 2022.

    If you need assistance and have received approval for any of the above-mentioned grants, our qualified team of providers and staff are available and have helped many providers through questions regarding these grants, the processes involved and expenses that have been approved. One-on-one, individual sessions will be scheduled at a time that is convenient for both you and your qualified child care team member.

    Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s)

    CSEA/VOICE is pleased to announce the availability of approved Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) Distance Learning Trainings in both English and Spanish provided through Penn State Better Kid Care. With a prepayment code you can access and complete an ACE’s training at no cost!

    This program is open to NYS Registered Family, Licensed Group Family and Legally Exempt Child Care providers outside of New York City. This opportunity is funded by the Professional Development dollars that CSEA/VOICE negotiated in our fourth union agreement with NYS and OCFS.

    How to Use this Program
    1. Go to: https://csealearningcenter.org/grants/CSEAACE.cfm and enter your license/registration/enrollment number and CSEA ID, then follow the instructions to obtain the prepayment code.
    2. Now you must follow the instructions on how to create an account with Better Kid Care to access the ACE’s training. You should have no out-of-pocket expense when using the prepayment code.

  • Blended Learning CPR/First Aid & AED Trainings

    CPR-AND-FIRSTAID

    CSEA/VOICE is excited to bring you FREE Blended Online Learning CPR/First Aid & AED trainings with funds negotiated in our latest contract with OCFS and New York State.  The training is a flexible option that can be completed in the comfort of your home with a follow up in-person skills assessment with up to 90 days to complete. It is open to licensed, registered and enrolled child care providers, their staff, substitutes and volunteers requiring certification and/or renewal within 90 days.
