We’re inviting you to join us in a powerful and fun show of solidarity—dress up as Rosie the Riveter at our upcoming event on Saturday August 9th, 2025.
Rosie the Riveter is more than just a symbol of strength and determination—she represents a pivotal moment in history when the U.S. government recognized the critical need for universal child care.
During World War II, as millions of women entered the workforce to support the war effort, the federal government responded by creating a publicly funded child care system so mothers could work in factories and shipyards—just like Rosie. It was a moment that proved what’s possible when child care is treated as a public good, not a private burden.
By dressing as Rosie, we honor that legacy and send a strong message:
Child care is essential, and providers deserve real investment, respect, and support.
So roll up your sleeves, tie on that red bandana, and get ready to flex those muscles—not just for a photo op, but for the future of our profession.
