Vision and Dental Coverage

CSEA along with the New York State Department of Health will provide Vision and Dental Insurance at NO COST to any registered, licensed or enrolled legally exempt child care provider outside New York City. (Please note: Both coverages must be taken for this no cost plan).

You must be an ‘active’ Child Care Provider with the NYS Office of Children and Family Services to qualify for this no cost Supplemental Insurance Coverage. If your status has changed, please contact Nora Matos at 1-800-342-4146, extension 1309.

* If you are currently enrolled in Medicaid you are NOT eligible for these benefits.

The $500 CSEA Child Care Quality Grant assists with paying for program related expenses including purchasing equipment and supplies, health and safety items, or covering operating expenses related to licensure or renewal. You can apply if:

You live outside NYC and are active as a New York State Registered Family OR a Licensed Group Family OR an eligible Enrolled Legally-Exempt child care provider.

Eligible Legally-Exempt child care providers must have 12 months of continuous enrollment and 10 hours of child care training in the last year.

CSEA Health Insurance Rebate Program For Child Care Providers

The application period is OPEN! 


The CSEA Health Insurance Rebate Program will provide a rebate of up to $3,000 to assist with the purchasing cost of 2023 health coverage under the NY State of Health exchange. We can only reimburse you for the premium expenses you were required to pay out-of-pocket (after subsidies were applied).

We will require at a minimum for final determination the following:

  • A copy of your Insurance Identification Card
  • The 2023 IRS Form 1095-A you received in January 2024

You are eligible if you meet the following two conditions:

  • You have enrolled in the NY State of Health Benefit Exchange and pay premiums out-of-pocket for health insurance, AND
  • You live outside NYC and are a New York State Registered Family OR a Licensed Group Family OR an Enrolled Legally-Exempt child care provider.
